Wild plum. These trees are on the El Mogote sand spit near La Paz, not, one would think, a likely place to come across them, especially ones of this size. Another place to go looking for them is along the loamy flats of river bottoms. There are some other big ones about a mile and a half up the C. San Dionisio trail on the way to La Laguna.
